Rainbow Project Sioux Falls: We’re Coming Back For You
Rainbow Project Sioux Falls started as a simple idea—one Girl Scout’s dream to make a difference by creating safe and welcoming spaces for LGBTQ2S+ youth, teens, and young adults in Sioux Falls. What began as a project to earn a Gold Award quickly became something much more personal: a deep commitment to building a community where young people could be themselves without fear, without judgment—just love and acceptance.

Unfortunately, despite our dedication, the response was not what we had hoped. The desire for connection was there, but the engagement from the LGBTQ2S+ community was not. It was heartbreaking to see our vision struggle to take hold. Defeated, we made the difficult decision to step back and take a break.

But now, looking at the world around us, we realize stepping away isn’t an option. The attacks on LGBTQ2S+ people are louder and more harmful than ever. There are those looking to erase the LGBTQ2S+ community. The need for safe spaces, for unwavering support, for community, has never been greater. And that’s why we’re coming back.
So here we are, ready to rebuild, ready to fight for our LGBTQ2S+ community. We’re here for you, and we always will be.

Rainbow Project Sioux Falls is coming back—stronger, more determined, and more committed than ever. We can’t wait to stand with you, to support you, and to grow this community together.

Stay tuned—we’re just getting started!
